As toll in the devastating Pulwama terror attack continued to mount, Prime Minister Narendra Modi condemned the incident and said the entire nation should stand together with the families of the deceased.

In a series of tweets on Thursday evening, PM Modi said, "Attack on CRPF personnel in Pulwama is despicable. I strongly condemn this dastardly attack. The sacrifices of our brave security personnel shall not go in vain. The entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with the families of the brave martyrs. May the injured recover quickly."

Prime Minister Modi further added that he has spoken to Home Minister Rajnath Singh to take stock of the situation in Kashmir.

At least 30 CRPF jawans have died so far in the worst terror attack on the armed forces in the past few years. Several others, who were part of the 50-vehicle CRPF convoy, remain critical and are undergoing treatment at local hospitals.

An explosive-laden SUV rammed into the CRPF bus that was carrying about 40 jawans. 30 of them have died so far, with the others being critical.
